Synopsis:

Ten years ago, on april fools day, ota was born, with a cassete made between two friends bagatela and brotas.

It was a diy effort that eventually featured on some list of cassette albums of the year.

Started from the remains of short films collaborations by three friends, ota became a shared obsession, exploring possibilities of simple collaboration, with varied contribuitions from complete amateurs to cassette heavyweights.

Ota did several 30-50 cassette releases, created a singular handmade cassette cover for each singular tape, while partnering with volunteering visual contributors for the artwork.

Ota existed without funding, without money and without academics.

So it trod along for a few years, until the energy ran out.

After 10 years, ota peeks out from the silence and invites anyone else to listen, propose, create with us.
