Rahina-klubi: Mun Ra + Mehmeti & Sirkiä

Mun Ra is a band from Tampere, whose playing perfectly combines unmusical beauty with musical ugliness. All kinds of sounds merge into organic sound accumulations. At the Rahina Club in Merihaka, Mun Ra will accompany the short film The Eggregores´ Theory directed by Andrea Gatopoulos. The band’s live performances are built in an instant: fast-breathing drones and grotesque textures that hardly leave room for thinking anything bad. Mun Ra is Sami Karttunen, Santtu Virta and Jarno Alho playing synths and electronics with field recordings.

Laura Mehmeti is a Swiss artist, improviser and accordionist. A graduate of the Hochschule Luzern in the class of Anne-Maria Hölscher, she continues her studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki in the class of Veli Kujala. She enjoys exploring the different aspects and repertoires of instrumental music, both as a soloist and in ensembles such as the Latenz Ensemble, a Switzlerand-based experimental music group in which she has played since 2020. She is very curious and is always on the lookout for new experiences, new ways of approaching music and sharing it with the audience.
