REONA:

REONA is an artist who uses tap dance techniques to express her music. She is a tap dancer, improviser, designer, choreographer, teacher, and composer based in Tokyo, Japan. To materialize the sounds in her head, she uses tap shoes and a wooden board, as well as metal sheets, chains, steel bowls, plastic bags, and loudspeakers.
Her sound is noise music–like, and she has performed with many improvisers, dancers, painters, and free jazz musicians. Her sound impulses are directly connected to her legs, and she expresses herself using everything available in her body, including her arms and mouth — making for a one-of-a-kind presence.

Arola & Mjöll:

Sólrún Mjöll and Jaakko Arola crossed paths within Reykjavík’s underground music scene, first performing together in noise and improvisation ensembles and since 2025 as a duo. All of their music is either co-composed or improvised, moving fluidly between grooves and riffs, minimalistic soundscapes and high intensity free improvisation.

Jaakko Arola is a musician, improviser, composer and instrument-maker. His current practice is centred around expanding the timbral possibilities of the bass clarinet. Arola explores the bass clarinet as a polyphonic instrument while modifying its timbral palette with handcrafted mouthpieces and techniques influenced by the sonic aesthetics of traditional flutes.

Sólrún Mjöll is a drummer based in Reykjavík who completed the advanced level exam on drumset and percussion in the jazz department in MÍT music school in Iceland in 2021. Working as a professional drummer in Iceland and as a touring artist, her work ranges from improvised and electronic music, jazz, rock and pop to music for stage plays and TV. Sólrún has performed with many of Iceland’s top musicians as well as artists in the experimental underground scene.
